I’m Sydney Lynch, and I’m excited to be running for the Clear Creek County Board of Education.
Welcome!
Meet Sydney
My family and I have lived in Idaho Springs for seven years, and our affection for this small mountain town continues to grow. I’m a full-time mom, nurse, and active community member. When I am not working, I enjoy gardening, pottery, and helping out with toddler time at the Clear Creek Recreation center. I have three children – ages 9, 6, and 3 – and like many parents, teachers, students, and community members, I am wholeheartedly invested in the future of Clear Creek School District.
I have been a registered nurse for over a decade and I currently work in the Surgical/Trauma ICU at Denver Health. Over the past three years, I have taken on many leadership opportunities – steering continuing education initiatives, chairing the education committee, and initiating unit specific improvements to better support staff and patients. I am a problem solver by nature and thrive in settings that require thoughtful and decisive action. I believe that listening and collaborating with ALL stakeholders is essential in achieving the most meaningful and effective outcomes. I am eager to bring this mindset and energy to our school board!
Ultimately, I am running because I care. I care about every student, every teacher, and every resident of Clear Creek County that I’m fortunate enough to call my neighbor. Our public schools are the heart of the youth experience in our county and ensuring a future full of hope and confidence is my primary mission. I will ensure every student, teacher, and community member feels seen, heard, and supported. I believe in this community and I would be honored to serve this wonderful place I call home!

Priorities
Student Support
Students should be supported academically, socially, and emotionally. I believe in strengthening school-community partnerships and ensuring that professional development for teachers is rooted in research to drive meaningful, positive outcomes for all students.
Teacher Retention
Clear Creek’s teacher turnover rate makes it difficult to maintain consistency for our students. We should aim to increase our teacher retention by fostering a supportive work environment, addressing compensation concerns, and exploring creative solutions.
Financial Transparency & Accountability
Clear Creek County community members deserve to know how school funding is accumulated and used. I support clear, accessible reporting and smart spending decisions that reflect our community’s priorities and put students first.
Engaging with the Community
Strong schools are built on strong community connections. I’m committed to open communication and making sure families, staff, and community members feel heard and involved in the decisions that shape.
